The contract of a throw

You click throw, the knife leaves, you cannot melee until it returns or despawns. If you miss, you are an Innocent with worse movement. If you hit, the target is down and everyone who saw the projectile knows your role. Throw when melee cannot reach: a Sheriff holding an angle, a jumper on Factory crates, a last Innocent on a stair you do not want to climb. Do not throw at a player standing in your slash range. That is a style foul and a Sheriff invitation.

PC flick versus mobile drag

PC: mouse to head height, throw bind (often E or right-click depending on the clone — confirm in PC controls), micro-adjust during the windup if the kit allows. Mobile: look with the right thumb, throw with the on-screen knife button, never the jump button. The Brazilian mobile tutorial above shows the jump-on-head escape; the same jump is how people dodge your throw. Aim chest, not sky. Full thumb layout is on mobile controls.

Jump-throws exist on some maps with low ceilings (Hotel corridors will eat the knife). Open maps — Factory outdoor lanes, or Mil Base when the clone ships it — are where the tech from the video actually lands. If the ceiling is close, melee. Void scythe looks longer in first-person and can trick you into early throws; the hitbox is still a knife. Practice after redeeming N3WC0D3, not in a sweaty stack.

When the Sheriff is holding the angle

Peek-throw: show a pixel, toss, strafe back. If you full-body peek, you eat the bullet and the throw never matters. Mansion hallway 1v1s are this minigame. Read Mansion before you ego-challenge the staircase. If the gun already dropped, you do not need to throw at all — walk up and slash. Throws are for guns that still exist.

Some scripts include “knife throw to closest” and “instant throw.” They remove the skill shot and paint you as an exploiter in death chat. Use them or do not; this guide assumes your thumb.
