How to Be Murderer in KMM

Murderer is the only role that can end the lobby without help. It is also the only role that loses to a single bullet. Play like a janitor, not a montage. Clear rooms, hide the body line of sight, and throw only when the Sheriff is boxed.

Updated:

The delay is your stealth window

You spawn without a visible knife for a few seconds. Walk, do not sprint in a straight line from the spawn pad. Sprint trails are how Sheriffs ID you before the blade even exists. Break line of sight, then take the first isolated Innocent. Isolated means a player looting coins in a dead-end, not a cluster in the foyer. Cluster slashes create witnesses. Witnesses create a Sheriff peek.

On Mansion the kitchen-to-garage loop is the silent clear. On Hotel take the freezer and the cinema projector before you touch the lobby fountain. On Factory knives shine in crate alleys; do not challenge the long conveyor sightline until the gun is down. Map pages list the closets people actually hide in.

Throwing is a tool, not a personality

A thrown knife travels, leaves you empty-handed until it returns, and screams “Murderer” to anyone who sees the projectile. Use it on a Sheriff who is aiming, on a jumper you cannot melee, or through a doorway you do not want to enter. The full flick guide is how to throw the knife. Mobile players should read that before they waste Void scythe throws into the ceiling.

Last two and the dropped gun

When two Innocents remain, one of them might be holding the stolen gun. You cannot play the same sneak. Force a split: show yourself to one, loop, and punish the rotator. If the gun is on the floor, you can pick it up in some kits and delete the last Innocent with their own bullet — then you still have to knife if the clone does not let Murderer fire. Learn the clone by dying once. The ESP scripts paint roles; they also make you sloppy. Win a few rounds blind before you paint the lobby.

Equip a mesh you can see. Sunblade is pretty and loud. A darker Common is quieter in Hotel wood paneling. Flex after the banner, not during the stalk. Codes that grant scythes are on the codes list; they do not make the Sheriff miss.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common KMM questions.

Should I kill the Sheriff first?

If you know who they are and they are isolated, yes. If you do not know, do not slash a crowd hoping.

What if someone picks up the gun?

Treat them as Sheriff. The one-bullet rule now applies to you from a new angle.

Is camping a valid Murderer strategy?

On timer maps camping loses. On no-timer clones, camping the last closet works until someone loops you.

Do scythes have more range?

Visually yes, mechanically almost never. Play the hitbox, not the screenshot.
